Olympic Fever!!

Since arriving in Whistler I have been consumed by the Olympic fever! It is impossible to describe the incredible vibe here. Everyone is energized, excited, happy and overjoyed to display their pride in their country. Especially us Canadians! It would seem that every single person has literally "bought" into the idea of the Olympic spirit. I have never seen so many Canadian Flags, Mitts, Scarves, Jackets, Sweaters and Toques. Now or should I say two weeks ago would have been the time to buy stocks in HBC. They must be making a killing!! Guess that is what happens when you make good stuff!

On my first day we went and saw two events. Men's Big Hill Ski Jumping and Womens 15km combined in which Sara Renner came 10th! Congratulations! Wow both events were incredible displays of athleticism and courage. After this Olympics I really hope they show more of both of these events on TV in Canada. They are epic!
Family in a Bobsled. Second day we went and watched the 2 man bobsled! Incredible!
The beautiful shrine dedicated to Nodar Kumaritashvili
The cheering crowds at the womens combined
The start of the womens 15km combined. Anticipation.
The big hill.

More to come!
